2011 World Airport Awards

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) was just hailed as 2011 World’s Best Airport. Hongkong made it to the top this year stepping up as they ranked second (2nd) for the year 2009 and third (3rd) for the year 2010 based from the reputable Skytrax World Airport Awards. At the same time, HKIA is operating twenty-four hours a day and considered as one of the world's largest passenger terminal buildings since it opened in 1998. This huge investment has paid off being considered as one of the largest engineering and architectural projects in the world.


The Asian countries grabbed the top three (3) ranks with a total of 5 Asian airports on the list, four (4) from Europe and one (1) from Australia-Pacific Region. Below is the list of Top 10 Airports for the year 2011:
